UMD Gallery & Projects opened in 2021 in Ucluelet, British Columbia. Literally “under my deck,” UMD reframes domestic space in a small rural community as a public exhibition venue and a place to decolonize land ownership. UMD hosts experimental works to create opportunities for sharing art and conversations that usually only happen in larger urban spaces.
UMD FREE - front yard gallery and projects - launched in 2024 with the addition of a tiny gallery space in the front yard on Bay Street. Special thanks to Clayoquot Biosphere Trust for funding this initiative.
